It is designed as the plastic-free companion to Vigilis Bio tree shelters, mesh guards, and voleguards, allowing you to build a fully plastic-free tree protection system from shelter to fixing.
How long does a BioTie last before degrading?
The BioTie is designed to maintain its mechanical properties for the duration of the tree establishment phase — several years in normal outdoor conditions. Like other biodegradable products, degradation rate varies with soil moisture, temperature, and UV exposure. In most UK outdoor planting conditions it will remain functional for the period needed before the tree shelter itself begins to degrade.
Is the BioTie suitable for use with non-biodegradable shelters?
Yes — the BioTie can be used with any tree shelter or mesh guard, regardless of whether the guard itself is biodegradable.
