Vigilis Wrap

The Vigilis Wrap protects individual plant stems from rabbit and hare browsing, herbicide drift during weed control operations, and accidental strimmer and mechanical damage. Its spiral form expands with the growing stem, so it remains effective even as the plant increases in girth without constricting growth the way a rigid tube might.

A stake is optional — the spiral wrap can stand alone around a sturdy stem, but for slender new whips on exposed sites, a bamboo cane alongside the plant provides useful additional support. If using a cane, attach the wrap loosely so it can expand and move freely as the plant develops.

Remove the Vigilis Wrap after 3–5 years, once the plant is established and no longer at risk from rabbits or strimmers. Check annually — if the spiral starts to constrict the stem before that point, remove it sooner. Removed wraps can be returned through the Vigilis Protect, Collect, Recycle scheme. For a no-removal option, use the Vigilis Bio Wrap instead.

The Vigilis Wrap is suitable for hawthorn, blackthorn, field maple, hornbeam, and other single-stemmed hedgerow whips. For Countryside Stewardship hedgerow agreements, confirm accepted products with your scheme adviser before ordering.

Yes. Vigilis recyclable products are produced with up to 30% recycled plastic, predominantly from our own in-house production scrap. Keeping this stream closed-loop within our factory reduces virgin plastic use while maintaining the strength and UV stability needed for full establishment-period performance. At end-of-life, the product is fully recyclable through standard plastics recycling streams.
